Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

We are located in county of Los Angeles, California, United States. So except as otherwise noted, all prices on our website are in US dollars.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we do! However, we currently ship to the following countries only:

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States

What shipping methods are available, and how much do you charge for shipping & handling?

To the contiguous 48 states of the US, we offer FedEx Home Delivery for a flat rate $8.00. To all the 50 states of the US, we offer USPS Express Mail for a flat rate $23.00. To Canada and Mexico, we offer Express Mail Service for a flat rate $30.00. To all other countries we ship to, we offer Express Mail Service for a flat rate $37.00. By "flat rate", we mean that the aforementioned amount is charged for a single order regardless of the number of items or the total weight. Please be advised that all shippings from us require your signature upon delivery.

Will you use a cheaper delivery method such as Priority Mail?

We are afraid we must ship our custom-made merchandises by more reliable delivery methods. Due to the nature of our custom apparel making and use of some hard-to-obtain fabrics, lost items may not be reproduceable. And even if they can be re-produced, a small company like us cannot afford to lose all the labor hours put into the lost products. Therefore, we do not use Priority Mail that does not provide complete tracking information. (Note that 'Delivery Confirmation' is NOT a complete tracking) We ship only by reliable delivery methods with complete tracking information and signature requirement.

What methods of payment are available?

Currently, we accept payments using PayPal. But a PayPal account is not required to send us a payment. When you are directed to the PayPal website for a payment, you can simply choose to pay by a credit card without creating a PayPal account.

I don't have a credit card. Can I pay by another method such as Money Order?

We're sorry, but at this time we do not accept payments other than credit card or PayPal account. We DO NOT accept Money Order, Cachier's Check, Certified Check, Personal Bank Check, Postal Money Order, International Postal Money Order, Western Union, Bank Wire Transfer, or Cash. But our future plans include accepting Japanese domestic bank transfers.

I'm shopping from outside the United States. Do I need to pay for customs duty? If so, how much?

We can't speak for the customs bureau of your country as it is not within our juristiction. But we know that you, an importer, are responsible for any applicable customs and duty charges. We never reimburse any of those charges. The duty rate charged on women's clothing varies across foreign customs, but as a rule of thumb, you probably get charged somewhere between 0% and 25% of the total value. On top of that, some foreign goverments charge value added tax (VAT) or goods and services tax (GST) on import goods at the same time as customs duty. These tax rates range from 0% to 25%. Again, we never reimburse any of those tax charges. You must pay any applicable charges to receive your import items. Be sure to reserve enough funds to cover those charges as your items ship.

How does your Reward Point Program work?

The Reward Point Program is our loyal customer appreciation program. When your order is complete, you earn 1 point for every $10.00 of the subtotal (after applying all applicable discounts and before adding tax and shipping). On your next purchase of a skirt, jumper skirt, or a one-piece dress, a $10.00 discount is automatically applied by using each 10 earned points. Reward Program Points has no cash value, not redeemable for cash.

What is a Petite Saving?

Petite Saving is a discount applicable to smaller sizes of some types of clothes. There are two reasons for doing this. 1: Smaller sizes consume smaller amounts of materials. 2: Market competition is very severe for smaller sizes. — Most clothes made by well-known Japanese brands are smaller sizes (roughly equivalent to US Medium or Small), so more competitive prices must be offered on those sizes to give us an edge, even though those leave us very slim margins of profit. The discount rates vary depending on the type of clothes, materials used, and the size. They are automatically applied when you check out if your measurements are submitted.

What's the typical turn-around time from order to delivery?

That really varies depending on the backlog we have. Please be sure to check the estimated shipping date range displayed when you check out your order. Express Mail usually takes 1 to 5 business days depending on the destination country. FedEx Home Delivery usually takes 1 to 5 business days depending on the destination states.

Do you have a physical store location I can visit?

No. We are a strictly online-only store at this time.

You do not currently have the fabric I want in stock. When will you stock more?

It depends. If the production of the fabric is not discontinued and we see our customers' needs, we will probably stock more in one to two months.

Will you provide handbags and shoes too?

Sorry, we cannot provide those items at this time.

What's the typical size ranges of your products?

Generally,
Bust: 27.5in (70cm) — 44.0in (112cm)
Waist: 22.0in (56cm) — 36.5in (93cm)
Hip: 31.5in (80cm) — 43.5in (110cm)
Please note that some clothes accept narrower size ranges.

Does your skirt come with a built-in petticoat?

No, our skirts are only lined. It's recommended to purchase your own petticoat.

What is a single-faced / double-faced back bowtie? What's the difference?

A single-faced tie is one layer of fabric with the print only showing on one side. A double-faced tie is two layers of fabric with the print showing on both sides. For solid fabrics, single-faced is always recommended. There is a technique to tie single-faced bowties without the back side showing. Single-faced bowties are standard for all dresses and skirts, but for an additional charge, we can make it double-faced. The downside to having double-faced back bowtie is that the bow tends to be more bulky and heavy. See our tutorials:

What is a rolled hem / folded hem? What's the difference?

A rolled hem is formed by rolling over a tiny amount of the edge of the fabric and sewing it down. A (double) folded hem is formed by folding the raw edge over twice and sewing the folded edge down, encasing the raw edge. Our standard choices are ruffles with rolled hems and other parts with folded hems. A rolled hem is cost-effective, but some people prefer the classic look of a folded hem. So for an additional charge, we will finish a ruffle with a folded hem.

If my measurements are X-Y-Z, do you make your dresses exactly X-Y-Z?

No. The garment will be fitted to your measurements plus a little for ease and comfort (about an inch or two, give or take). Just be sure to give us your natural measurements, in other words, don't inhale while measuring yourself or otherwise be in an unnatural position. Your measurements can be different depending on whether you are standing up straight, standing relaxed (preferred), or sitting down.

I got a dress from you some time ago, but it doesn't really fit me any more. Will you make adjustment?

No. In such cases, we recommend to take it to your local tailor and have it alter for you. Since we're an online store, we can only make your garments according to your measurements provided in your account. It's your responsibility to keep your measurements updated. If your measurements tend to fluctuate often, it's suggested that you re-take your measurements every month.

Is there a limit on the number of designs I can store in my closet?

Yes, it's currently 20, counting without designs that have been ordered with us. For example, if your design closet contains 18 designs, 3 of which have been ordered, then you can add 5 more.
